... YOUR "LOCAL SOURCE" FOR A QUALITY TRINITY EXPERIENCE

Nestled in the heart of vast forest lands lies one of California's most rugged and primitive wilderness areas, the Salmon-Trinity Alps. The inspiring beauty and unique country of the Trinity Alps is blessed with a diversified watershed that provides anglers with some of the finest and most promising year-round Salmon-Steelhead-Trout-Shad fishing in the west.
What makes Trinity Fly Shop guide services so popular, effective and easily distinguishable from all others--We are locally based in the heat of the action (anglers can be suited up and casting a fly within five minutes from the shop) and employ "local" talent and professionalism always eager to teach, educate, and share the stoke and passion. Our ability to fish and thoroughly research local fisheries daily and year-round gives you and your friends the edge and confidence in knowing you are guided by honed professionals committed to their lifestyles and constantly in tune with their fisheries. NOBODY KNOWS OUR BACKYARD LIKE WE DO---IT IS OUR OFFICE AND PLAYGROUND...
Much more then a simple guided fishing trip or being escorted down the middle of the river by an oarsman. Our goal is not to catch fish for you, but for you to learn and experience the proper fly fishing fundamentals and techniques of how to catch them yourself. Devoted attention and "hands-on" instruction--Suite up - Line Up - Wade in and add fun! By teaching and demonstrating successful techniques, anglers will develop a better knowledge and understanding of fly fishing and our local waters and wildlife within. Ultimately establishing a solid foundation for becoming a more successful and accomplished angler.
We maintain a strong passion for our resources and strive to protect them, therefore choose to tread lightly. Sorry, we do not employ a large lineup of guides or send off a fleet of boat operators to contract in the field. Simply Not Our Style. We do not want to impact the resources, crowd up waters, and or compete with our own customer base. However, we do provide a talented staff guaranteed to fulfill your desires with a full calendar year fishing line-up on a first come, first serve basis. Advanced Reservations Strongly Advised. Trinity Fly Shop maintains US Forest Service Permit (entire Trinity Watershed) and US Coast Guard License (OUPV). A DAY ON THE WATER WITH US ON ONE OF OUR EXCITING GUIDED TRIPS IS "QUALITY TIME"...

EXPERIENCE – “Hands-on” Traditional down and across wet fly swings, surging grabs, specific casts associated with proper line control and manipulation to achieve bottom scouring drifts and detecting the “take” without the crutch of a float or bobber. ENJOY – the hair raising thrill of Greased Line methods, surface-subsurface steelheading as well as bizarre dry fly techniques sure to broaden your horizons and advance you to success while witnessing the roll of their eyes. . TRINITY TAILWATER TROUT. One of our most popular early season, spring-summer, full day guided trips and for good reason. Big Water and Big Trout, with the possibilities of spring-summer steelhead. A scenic float trip targeting prime waters. Exciting streamer/leech fishing dominates our approach as we target our quarry opting to simulate and fish --- the other food chain. No Secret - Big fish often make meals out of little ones. However, early season warm weather is the catalyst that can trigger adult stonefly activity, creating stimulating surface opportunities while complementing other methods---often encountering big trout of the brown kind (Lock-levens). North-South-East-West, confused as to what to do or where to go next spring-summer. It’s a no brainier- Come stretch on the west side and let us show you our off season waters few are aware of.

TRINITY LAKE TRIBUTARY TROUT. A personal favorite early season (late winter, spring, early summer) trip that throttles into full gear well before the "general trout opener (April)" and fishes solid through June. Magnificent beauty and scenic trout option targeting the freestone rivers and "Bocas" (rivermouths) that feed and nurture northern California's four largest lake---Trinity Lake. Forever changing, moody and greatly influenced by current weather and water conditions, these gems hide their secrets well. Our trips will help unravel the complexities and dial you in to cultivate a feel for its moods/conditions and better understand the fisheries. Streamer, wet fly and dry options all can happen and inspire 12-18" rainbow, brown, unique land-locked steelhead and smallmouth bass to migrate, settle in and actively feed. It is all but haunting wading and fishing tributary rivermouths flowing into rich and fertile lake that supports 145 miles of shoreline --- A magnum rearing pond of exceptional proportions that at the right time and place can deliver bulk, occasionally in unsuspecting trophy sizes... A trip out of the ordinary-This ones for you!!
